Taiwan is ranked top 10 on the most visit country.


Taiwan is ranked in the top 10 for the number of nationals visiting overseas destinations, according to Mastercard’s 2018 Global Destination Cities Index, Liberty Times reported.

Tourism in Taiwan is one of the major industries and contributor to the economy of taiwan.
The same index also showed that tourists from China, South Korea, Japan and Taiwan were high-spending visitors in the 200 top city destinations that hosted international gusts in 2018, accounting for 18.5 percent of all visitors’ total expenditure in the cities. This figure was 11 percent just 10 years ago, Liberty Times reported.
According to the Mastercard report. Both South Korea and Taiwan made it into the top 10 for the first time in 2018.
The top 10 origin countries for travel to foreign destinations in 2018 were the U.S., China, Germany, the U.K., France, South Korea, Japan, Canada, Russia, and Taiwan, according to the Mastercard report, Liberty Times reported.

Visitors to Taiwan are spoiled for choices when it comes to things to do and places of incredible natural beauty.

National Taitung University Library and Information Center won the international architecture award




National Taitung University Library and Information Center has been celebrated for winning yet another architectural award, the Central News Agency

The library was inaugurated on 8 December 2014 after being constructed with a cost of NT$460 million.

The shape of the library resembles a pyramid with elements of mountains and ocean. Its roof is filled with grass. It has a total floor area of 13,000 m2 with 6,500 m2 reading area.

The building, shaped like a pyramid, also includes elements referring to both the mountains and the ocean present close by.
The grass growing on the roof emphasized the close ties to nature, while from the air, the structure looks like a huge book, CNA reported.

However, on Wednesday (July 17), school president Tzeng Yew-min (曾耀銘) traveled up to Taipei to receive praise from Vice Premier Chen Chi-mai (陳其邁) at a national architecture event, according to CNA.

Taiwan beer 100th anniversary


 Taiwan Beer will launch a series of public events in celebration of its 100th anniversary on July 27 and 28, which comes as welcome news for those keen on having a cold beer during the sweltering summer.

Taiwan Beer is a large market beer brewed by the Taiwan Tobacco and Liquor Corporation (TTL). The brand, an icon of Taiwanese culture, began as a monopoly product but has remained the best- selling beer in the territory in the era of free trade.
Jianguo Brewery, where Taiwan beer was first produced, was built in 1919 and was operated under the name Takasago Brewery during the Japanese occupation. Over the last century, it changed its name several times before being renamed Taipei Brewery, as it is known today.
Taipei Brewery is located in Zhongshan District. Visitors to the facility can order food and beverages at the brewery restaurant
The “Taiwan Beer 100 party” will commemorate the the first edition of Taiwan Beer, which was produced by Takasago Beer Company. It will also feature time-honored brews such as Gold Medal, 18 Days, and fruit beers, according to UDN.

Route of Taiwan on 2 Wheels

 


Taiwan Tourism Bureau’s East Rift Valley National Scenic Area has posted a message on its website introducing the “Taiwan on 2 Wheelswebsite, a portal for cycling largely dedicated to Cycling Route No. 1, which can look for the route of taiwan

Riding a bicycle is the summit of human endeavour - an almost neutral environmental effect coupled with the ability to travel substantial distances without disturbing anybody. The bike is the perfect marriage of technology and human energy.



Driving is too fast, walking is too slow change your speed and perspective at a speed of 20 kph on a bicycle so you can experience the natural beauty of Taiwan,” the introduction to the website says.

The introduction adds that for people who want to follow the recommended route, they can travel around the island either clockwise or counterclockwise.

The Cycling Route No. 1 portion of the website divides the around-the-island route into 12 sections. Under each section, visitors will find useful information including a map, route guide, plus scenic and rest spots along the route.
