Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall was designed by renowned architect Yang Cho-Cheng and was open to the public in 1980.
There are 89 steps at the front, 89 being the age of President Chiang When he passed away
Overall the architectural concept combines Chinese traditional though and commemorative meaning.
On the 4th flr you can see the statue of Chiang Kai-Shek. It's 6.3meters height, weight 21.25 tones and was made by Chen Yifan. The character "Ethics, Democracy Science". The central ideas of the three principles of the people, writen by Chiang himself are engraved on the wall behind the statue.
"The purpose of living is to improved the living of the whole human beings, the meaning of life is to create the proceeding life" are engraved on the white marble pillars on either side of the statue...
