Taipei 101 is a land mark supertall skyscraper in Taipei, Taiwan
The design of taipei 101 borrows heavily from chinese culture.
The 101 in the name refers to the number of floors, as well as the idea of renewal, going 1 step beyond the traditional complete number of 100, it is also represent the new year, which occurs on 1/01, as well as representing the digital language of binary.
For the New Years Eve Celebration when the countdown enters the final stage, the building itself lights of floor by floor from the bottom up for the New Years countdown, making Taipei 101 the biggest New year's eve count down in the world.
